Dr. Shirley Agrupis, President of Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU, Philippines), with 7 faculty and staff, visited Shizuoka University (SU) on July 18, 2023.

The delegation paid a courtesy call to President Hizume and Vice President Kondo (in charge of international strategy), followed by a signing ceremony for the renewal of the inter-university exchange agreement. The delegates then participated in a series of meetings with Faculty members of Global Interdisciplinary Science and Technology*, Education, and Agriculture.

During the lunch, a student from MMSU, currently studying in the doctoral program at SU, joined to share with MMSU delegation, her student life and research on Hamamatsu campus.

As SU, together with MMSU, constitutes the “JPTI6 ESD Sustainable Development Consortium”, an ESD/SDGs themed consortium, based on the several issues that were raised during this visit that will lead to future collaboration, further academic and student exchange is expected in many more areas in the future.

*At the Inauguration Ceremony of this new Faculty on June 22. a video of President Agrupis' congratulatory address was projected.
