H.E. Mr. O. Dranga, Ambassador of Romania, visited Shizuoka University on Monday, August 21, 2023.

In the meeting of President Hizume and H.E. Mr. Dranga, the promotion of exchange involving universities, industry, and local governments was discussed, together with Vice President Kondo (International Strategy), Assoc. Prof. Moraru (Research Institute of Electronics /Faculty of Engineering) and Prof. Ando (Humanities and Social Sciences) who are actively supporting the mobility of faculty and students through the EU program “Erasmus+”.

After lunch, Prof. Hara (Dean of Graduate School of Sciences and Technology) joined to introduce the “Inter Academia”, an academic community with partner universities in Central and Eastern Europe including Romania, which has organized a yearly conference for 20 years.

Prior to his visit, H.E. Mr. Dranga attended the concert "Sunetele care răsună între România și Shizuoka” (supported by “East Asia Culture City 2023” Shizuoka Prefecture, the City of Iasi, and the Embassy of Romania in Japan; co-sponsored by Shizuoka University).
