On September 17th, Woonerf’s interactive internship midterm report session was held.
In the meeting, Mr. Hiramatsu, Founder and CEO of Woonerf attended the meeting together with Mr. A (Department of Informatics, Faculty of Informatics), a Myanmar international student, and Ms.Giang (Department of Informatics, Faculty of Informatics) and Mr. Hiep (Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering) both of them are Vietnamese international students. They reviewed the first half of the internship and confirmed the contents of the presentations to be prepared by three students for the final report session.
While discussions are being held on global guidelines for the future related to people and the environment, such as SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) and decarbonized societies, Woonerf is engaged in consulting and research to each company and local government by providing specific evaluation systems and indicators. Woonerf ‘s business is a very new field, but it is expected to grow rapidly not only in Japan but also in Asia as a whole. Founder Hiramatsu said, “In the future, as we compete for human resources, companies all over Japan want talents who are young and can speak both Japanese and English, and who also have expertise such as engineering and information technology. By showing that Woonerf is working in Hamamatsu while being normally connected to Tokyo, Kansai, and overseas, I think we will be able to attract good human resources. I would like to continue to engage with international students in an extended form even after the end of this internship.”
In the first half of the interactive internship, it seems that there were many lectures mainly from the Woonerf side to three international students, but these students seemed to be very interested in this new field. At the final report session on September 29th, international students will include original proposals for Woonerf.
